Bali Vaccination – targeted 50% by July 2021!
As reported by the State News Agency Antara, the Minister for Tourism and the Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno said that Luhut Binsar Panjaitan – the Coordinating Minister of Maritime Affairs and Investment is targeting that around 50% or 2 million of the Island’s residents will have been vaccinated by the middle of 2021. Sandiaga said that the accelerated vaccination program for Bali’s people reflects the full support of Minister Panjaitan for the steps being taken by the Ministry of Tourism to restore Bali’s tourism economy.
Bali’s vaccination program has received priority from the Coordinating Minister of Maritime Affairs and Investment, giving instructions that by July, he wishes to target 2 million Bali residents vaccinated against COVID-19.
Minister Sandiaga said that the needed Bali vaccination are in readiness, with only sufficient qualified medical personnel still required to provide the injections. “We have already held discussions with Udayana University, the local military command, and police to help provide addition vaccinators,” said Sandiaga.
Minister Sandiaga said that in combination with vaccinations against COVID-19, his Ministry implores that all parties follow strict and disciplined health protocols. In this way, he said, he hopes a “fresh breeze” would descend and accelerate the recovery of the tourism and creative economy sectors.
Continuing, Sandiaga said: “This will create new hope and spread a spirit that says ‘Bali is Back’ and can continue to serve as a tourism icon to stimulate the national economy in a post-pandemic era.
